IT had generally been thought that adults were more predisposed to stress, we believed, teenagers, even children, also face stress in their lives. Everyone has to deal with stress at one point in life. Stress is, according to experts, a feeling that is created when we react to particular events. It’s the body’s way of stepping up to the plate and being ready to face a difficult circumstance with strength, stamina, and increased attention.

As experts said, the human body responds to stressors by activating the nervous system and specific hormones. These hormones, when activating, they said, speed up heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and metabolism. If these activities went wrong in the body system, experts said that would be a signal to health issues in the body.

According to experts, all stresses shouldn’t be categorised as bad,as there were good ones too. They said short term stress helped to put the body on the alert while the long term stress wore the body down. Long term stressful situations can produce a lasting, low level stress that is hard on people. The nervous system senses continued pressure and may remain slightly activated and continue to pump out extra stress hormones over an extended period.

This can wear out bodys reserves, leave a person feeling depleted or overwhelmed, weaken the body’s immune system, and cause other problems, as life throw us,the adults, off balance, it hauls the same amount of challenges at both younger ones too.

The problem is that these younger ones don’t have the necessary experience to deal with life and its many stresses as we adults, And this is where the adults come in.

Also one of the ways to deal with stress as an adult was to have regular exercise. When parent inculcate exercise into their daily lives, they would pass it onto their children, we therefore, advised parents to make out time to exercise as a family. It is a fun way to learn to bond with your kids and its a great way to help them reduce their stress levels.

Human nutritionists too have said eating healthy is a good way to deal with stress. Unhealthy junk food should be done away. Parents need to provide their teenagers with foods proven to help to reduce stress.

Finally, sleep is a great friend to everyone. Parents should make sure their teenager has a strict bedtime routine in the home, doctors have advised too. The reason is that teenagers often suffer from high levels of stress because they don t get the proper amount of sleep each night. It would be best if your teenager sleeps for between eight and ten hours.
