On Tuesday, the Lagos State Government officially got the approval letter for the development of the Lekki-Epe International Airport from the Federal Government of Nigeria. 

According to the Minister of Aviation and the State Governor, the crucial project cements the cosmopolitan nature of Lagos and is set to make it the model mega city for Africa.

An aviation infrastructure is closely linked to easy accessibility, booming international and regional trade, and robust business opportunities.

The Lagos State Government said it would begin the construction of a new airport in the Lekki-Epe area of the state in 2023.
